Repertory Philippines' Sweeney Todd Musical Play

Attended this production with Cha, Kets and Chie and sure it was awesome! Watching it on its first showing and having free tickets is like winning the jackpot at a lottery. Haha! I felt so damn lucky! I commend Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo's portrayal of Mrs. Lovett, it's a role to kill for and she made an outstanding performance! Though Audie Gemora is not as handsome as Johnny Depp, I guess being a veteran theater performer is a perfect choice for Philippines' Benjamin Barker/Sweeney Todd.

You guys should see it. It's one of my favorite dark musical play. I assure you that it's worth every penny.

"Sweeney Todd" play dates are from November 14 to December 13, 2009 with additional matinees on Saturdays and Sundays at Onstage, 2/F Greenbelt 1, Ayala Center Makati City. For ticket inquiries and other information, call Repertory Philippines at 8870710, 8880887 of Ticketworld at 8919999.

PS thanks Kets for inviting me.

Chie's Back!

Time really flies so fast. Though it was only for a vacation, I'm glad that we're able to meet Chie again. You can't tell how much we missed her though it was like yesterday when she left for work abroad.

We went to her place, reminisced all afternoon, talked about what we've been through and what we're up to, laughed, pigged out, had coffee - name it! We had a great time and before leaving, we promised that we will meet again soon. A day isn't really enough with all our stories, especially for Melo hehe...

5 minus 1 Badings at Starbucks

How I wish that Yatz was also here, that will make the Badings complete! Anyhoo, there's always next time... lotsa lotsa time!

I love you Badings!

Stopped

Just watched again the classic movie called "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" then felt the need for a puff. My mind pondered on Mr. Nicholson's death on the film and tried to remember why the director had come up of such title. Saw this favorite movie of mine for I dunno, 100 times, but hell, I'm still asking the same questions after. Suddenly, I realized what a brilliant man Milos Forman was.

Out of the blue I remember our gas range downstairs. I cooked earlier but did I closed it or just left it as it is? Finished the cancer stick while searching for my favorite star. Weird, it's not there. Closed the gate and have it locked, wasted 5 minutes in doing so. Damn, how complicated those fucking precious pad lock! Went inside my room, dropped the handy Cricket, checked on my cellphone - still isn't fully charged! Stormed out of the room, walked down the stairs, double-checked the gas range - yeah, I closed it. Climbed up 15 steps, went inside the room, felt a little dumb, sipped on a water in a Moo plastic cup then checked again on my cellphone - still not fully-charged! Thought of blogging of what just happened to stay awake. Grabbed the laptop beside my bed, turned it on - one... two... 11 fucking minutes, shoot how much longer? Opened Blogger, typed up what I wanted to type. Eyes started to itch but ignored it. Got tired of thinking, don't have any clue what else to say. Unaware, now scratching my right half-closed eye. About to hit "Publish" this piece of crap then finally I stopped.

Reunited...

...and it feels so good! Well, it does. I'm so happy that finally, we met face-to-face after ? years. Though we always chat and text, it's still different you know.

I recently went out with Laine, a very good friend of mine who's working in Dubai. It's been 10 years (I believe) or so since we last saw each other so loads of yapping happened haha! First, we had dinner at Outback and we pigged out like there's no tomorrow! But our convo just didn't end there. We then went for a coffee and continued our long overdue chat. She mentioned the things that she had gone through during her application at Emirates, everything about her family and her plans for the future. She always say that she's very lucky and up until now, she couldn't believe that things are happening all in a good way. So I slapped her back to reality haha...

Anyway, Laine and I became friends during our Dunkin Donuts and Kenny Rogers days. We worked as crewmates during college and even though I've decided to choose another path, we remain good friends. I can say that Laine was one of my trusted friends. She knows almost everything about me, esp my fraudulent acts and I'm thankful she kept her mouth shut and I've never been ever caught. Hah!

We ended up in the cinema and watched 500 Days of Summer. The hardest part on that day is actually saying goodbye. As much as we want to do more stuff and talk all night long, well, we now have our own priorities in life. So goodbye for now and see you again soon! Alabyu dear.

Hagardo versoza!

PS Thank you Laine for the pasalubongs! Did I ever say that I sooo love the wine?

Training Day 1

Yes, indeed and I have to mark it! I need to know if I'm learning something though I feel like I'm a complete moron doing this. Anyhoo, what's in it for me not to go for it? Besides, I'm gonna skip listening to those fucking conference calls from London or Melbourne. MacPac for today so I better be going. Wish me luck!

For the Love of Art

I love art and I'm so in love with this particular Francoise Nielly's painting! She's one of my favorites aside from JK Potter. In her homepage, she shows a video on how her paintings actually evolved. Pretty impressive! Go check it out!

It's been...

...a while since I last posted. I've been very busy you know. Loads of things happened in the past 2 months? Wait what?! I haven't posted anything for the last 2 months? Oh well, blame it on ebay!

Being in the grave yard shift seems to be pretty boring but websites like Facebook, Twitter and ebay keeps me sane and up all night. That's basically where my life revolves for the past couple of months. I've even been convicted as an addict -- addicted to ebay but I proved them all wrong. Hah!

Well, aside from being crazy about ebay, I've been busy browsing and reading about the typhoon that just hit Philippines which leads to a disastrous flood that killed lots of people. Up until now, though it's been 2 weeks or so, most Filipinos are still in shock and in grieving mode for the things and people they lost. I even have a friend who experienced this and she's still recuperating from this traumatic tragedy. I felt so lucky that my family and I are safe during those times. These are the times when people start to treasure their lives even more.

I had a chance to visit my friend after the calamity. It never occurred to me what it feels/looks like after surviving such natural disasters but when I came across the place where the flood reached its high, I was in deep shock, as in really shocked! It's like a bad catastrophic movie that came to life! The place looks abandoned and in total darkness and you will never see any sign of people on the street, though there are people inside some ruined houses, trying to fix and take whatever is left from them. Cars are covered in mud and stinky garbage are all around, scattered on the street. It feels eerie and that any moment zombies will suddenly appear! Yay! It was the scariest place I've ever seen in my life.

We finally arrived alive at our friend's house. I can feel their sadness and dismay but I really am happy that there's this slight of hope in their eyes. I don't know how but Filipinos are like this -- it's easy for us to accept things and finally move on. But if you think about it, whatever that is gone are just material things anyway. The most important thing is that we are still breathing.

I guess this serves everyone a lesson. We should be more alert and proactive especially that according to the news, there will be four more typhoons coming in. We all should be ready by then!

Until then, let's all be safe.
