Making Mute and Deaf Blind

Last March 27 we celebrated Bnx and Karlota's BEERday at A-venue. We expected grand celebration but celebrants were a bit small-time, well, as true friends, we do understand. Haha! Anyway, two days before the celebration (and since I super loooovveeee these ladies) I decided to buy them a cool gift -- a birthday gift that will make them remember me ALWAYS. So I came up with these...

They fucking loved it! Karla even told me that she had better sleep now and Bnx... oh well of course, she made this pic her primary one. Happy Birthday Mute and Deaf.

Blind

Subic Escapade

My family planned for an overnight escapade somewhere in Batangas. Since the heat is on, all resorts there were fully-booked so we ended up in Subic. T'was fine with me because I really want to go shop at Duty Free. Heeeee :) This was Xioms' first long travel and vacation at the beach so I'm pretty excited for her.

On our way there, Ji's car overheats. Prolly there's a leak in the vehicle's cooling system but what's irritating is we paid some bogus mechanic in Pampanga and waited 2 fucking hours for nothing! By the time we reached Subic, her car starts acting up again. Then came a police officer who was so helpful and assured us that we can make it to the nearest available garage shop. We left the car at Yokohama and squeezed ourselves into a 6-seater car, not to mention our bulky bags. Ughh, hassle!

Finally, we reached our destination after long hours under the heat of the sun. Arizona Hotel and resort was okay. They do have a swimming pool, good booze, and an ok-restaurant.

Here are some pics from our adventure.

Two Sides Live

Last Thursday, my friends and I went on a Wolfgang concert at Music Museum. Razorback did the front act and I should say that they're really monsters! Kevin's voice sounds unbelievable, it's like listening to a CD being played at the very comfort of your home. His fucking voice never fades. Anyhoo, Wolfgang of course is one helluva of a band! Basti belted out my favorite songs. Yipee! Kudos to my forever crush Manuel Legarda who had a very long night playing his guitar. I hope that these bands will never get tired giving us great real Pinoy music. Rock and roll mga pare! Here are some picssssss...

See No Evil, Speak No Evil, Hear No Evil

This was during our first night in Ilocos. Karla and I aren't that sleepy so we went out of the room, puffed some Marl and had a very serious talk. Hahaha... serious my ass! Anyway, since everyone is already asleep and we saw Binky widely awake, we dragged her and sneaked out Louie's video cam to have some snapshots. And here are the craziness that we have come up with...

I know... I know... we looked like stupid assholes but we totally enjoyed this. My personal fav is the first pix which expresses the blog title. From then on, we call ourselves -- The Three Stooges or Tatlong Itlog. Hahahaha... I love you girls!

Ilocos' Must Try

I still can't get over Ilocos so am posting some of the (actual) foods we tried there. I personally LOVE the poque-poque and bagnet. Hmmm... I know what you're thinking, you silly!

What we tried is the empanada in Batac. It has some veggies, Ilocos' longganisa and egg. Tip -- try it with an over easy egg! very mouthwatering! =)

Batac's Empanada

Dinengdeng with utong is more like a fish soup with different kinds of veggies. Veggies includes the utong (Ilocano word for what we know as string beans), river spinach, squash blossoms, taro and a lot more. I just don't know what kind of fish it is. I asked it but failed to remember. Oh man! Memory gap!

Dinengdeng with utong

Crispy dinuguan tastes like the usual dinuguan but the pork is deep fried instead. That's it.

Crispy dinuguan

Bagnet is more like an Ilocos version of crispy pata but I tell you, don't be deceived. Once you pop, you can't stop!

Crispy bagnet

Poque-poque is like ensaladang talong (eggplant salad) but much more different in taste and texture. This is really a must try and believe me, you'll gonna ask for more!

Poque-poque

Pasta Ilocandia is made of Ilocos' famous longganisa and fresh tomatoes. It is usually eaten with wheat bread -- a healthy choice! Nah, not really!

Pasta Ilocandia

This is what we're all dying to try -- pinakbet pizza. Shrimp paste or fish sauce is out and replaced with a quick melt cheese. Am just thinking though if it would be better with mozarella. Yum! We ordered half of it and half of their all-meat since we're too scared to have the dinuguan pizza. Hehe.

All-meat and pinakbet pizza

That's about it. Make sure to try these. Bon appetite!

Ilocos Escapade

February 26: Manila-Pagudpud

Us 6 (Five, Keti, Franny, Karla, Bnx and me) recently went to Ilocos for 3 days and 2 nights. It was actually an unplanned plan but we were able to pull-off this super HAPPY trip. Our scheduled departure time is 9:30PM (YES, we are trying our luck to a 10 to 12-hour land travel) so our call time is 6PM. This was last February 26. I had my leave filed in order to prepare but I forgot that I have been scheduled to have a picture-taking in Comelec for my voter's ID. So I went to Comelec early to have my 1x1 photoshoot and right after, I went off to buy some important stuff before my 3-day absence at home. Gosh, time flies so fast today! I haven't packed my things yet and it's past 4PM!

At home, Xioms is widely awake and needed shower before sleeping. I have no choice but to do it or I'll be knocked out dead by my mom. After doing the baby stuff chores, I hastily packed my things. I was like an unstoppable whirling top. And yes, when I got to Ilocos that's when I realized I forgot some essentials!

Franny, Karla, Bnx and I arrived early at España (where Florida buses are). Keti was already there. I bet she's the MOST excited of all, to think that she came from a GY shift huh! Hehehe. We're still waiting for Five -- the VIP, so we decided to eat our dinner first. After eating, Franny decided to buy our tickets while waiting for the VIP. After an hour, I mean few minutes, Five finally arrived with her ever genius idea -- the Ziploc. This Ziploc will contain our monies and this is what we're going to spend once we reached Ilocos. Brilliant? I guess.

Our travel route: Manila-Pagudpud-Paoay-Laoag-Paoay-Vigan-Paoay-Laoag-Manila (and some municipalities in between)

at España
Going to Pagudpud, we rode the cutie pink/lavander bus of Florida Bus Lines. I sat beside Franny. Keti and Karla were partners as well as Five and Bnx. It was a boring journey because it was during the night and well, a torture for me. I had a hard time sleeping even when I reclined my seat, so I was awake the whole trip. I just wore my fabulous eye cover, had my earphones and turned the iPod's volume up. In short, I pretended I was asleep. Luckily, the bus did multiple stopovers, which means, Pitz & Karla's smoking time!

Bus tickets

Great pretender!
Then the sun shone upon us and I was sooo thrilled to see the beautiful humongous windmills. Shinning and glittering sun actually tells us we are almost there! Whooopeee!

February 27: Pagudpud

We finally arrived.

At Polaris Beach Resort
When I first saw the beach at Pagudpud, I couldn't explain what I felt. It was like breathtaking. The place was so peaceful and quiet, not crowded and it was absolutely amazing! Binky and I was so excited to sunbathe and to feel the sand while the others got themselves busy by capturing some photos of the magnificent site.

Pagudpud beach

We're bringing sexy back... yeah!

With my single ladies

Well, we have lots of things to do and places to go according to our itinerary and even if we don't want to leave the beach, we did. But we never felt bad about it because we've discovered more interesting and beautiful places in this region. Also, we promised that first thing to do the next morning is to go back to the beach. So it's absolutely okay.

The journey continued.

At Kabigan Falls

At Blue Lagoon

Yes, we love pictures!

Wacky shot somewhere up north!

The owner of the resort told us to come home early to witness the sunset and we're so glad that we did! There's no nightlife at Pagudpud (which is good) so we brought the nightlife there! Hahahaha.

Beautiful Pagudpud sunset

Inuman na!
One more time

February 28: Bangui-Paoay-Laoag (and some municipalities in between)

The next morning, only Karla and Franny were able to get up early and swim. I decided to sleep more. Keti got her, uhm, womanhood bad days.

According to our list, we will be visiting the famous Windmills in Bangui and the Cape Bojeador lighthouse. After, we'll go straight ahead to Paoay (where Ketchie, our friend tour guide lives) and Laoag.

More pics - which is worth a thousand words.

March 1: Vigan (and some municipalities in between)

Three words -- I LOVE VIGAN! Am an old school junk so Vigan for me is so cool! It's our last day so it's time to buy our pasalubongs! But of course before that, we went around the place to see the oldest surviving Spanish colonial city in the Philippines.

More and more pictures.

I found an interesting book. Hmmm...

Aaaand finally, we're HOME!

It was really a great and exciting experience especially when you're with your closest FRIENDS. Next year??? Out of town or maybe out of the country. We'll see. Ta-ta!
